With so many changes, it’s difficult to keep up with the training requirements for both new and existing candidate property practitioners. Please see below for an overview of the latest releases from the PPRA, updated 14 June 2024.
NQF4 Real Estate
The date of issue on your first FFC will determine your qualification pathway.
FFC date of issue before 1 July 2024, and who already acquired the old NQF4 Real Estate SAQA 59097:
FFC date of issue before 1 July 2024, and who failed to comply with the requirements of the 2008 Education Regulations (i.e. logbook + old NQF4 course) before 30 June 2024:
Need be: Property Practitioners already enrolled and in progress with the old NQF4 Real Estate course can continue to complete it and receive exemption from the new course, but no new enrolments are being accepted.
FFC date of issue on or after 1 July 2024:
This requirement will also apply to candidate property practitioners whose FFCs were applied for before 30 June 2024 but are issued from 1 July 2024.
Need be: Candidate property practitioners wishing to pursue the new occupational qualification will be allowed to apply for an FFC and enrol for the new occupational qualification simultaneously. Thus, the previously communicated requirement for candidates to first do the Knowledge and Practical Experience modules before applying for an FFC, will no longer apply.
Logbook
As of 1 July 2024, the PPRA will not be accepting logbooks for assessment.
The 6 Workplace Experience Modules (the “new” Logbook) that candidate property practitioners are mandated to complete will include the following:
Agents will have 180 days (approx. 6 months) from date of issue of first FFC to complete their logbook and practical training. Should the candidate property practitioners not succeed in complying with the 180 day rule applicable to all candidate property practitioners, they may apply to the PPRA for extension of their candidateship for a further period of 180 days showing good cause why such an extension should be granted.
FFC date of issue before 1 July 2024
In the event that your FFC was issued before 1 July 2024, candidate property practitioners will still need to complete a logbook under the 2008 Education Regulations. These candidate property practitioners will be required to submit a letter co-signed by their principals or mentors either confirming that they have completed their logbook or the 6 practical training modules (whichever is applicable). The PPRA has set up a mailbox where letters confirming completion of the practical training courses must be sent: [email protected]
Note: Evidence of these logbooks must be stored at the agency in case of a verification visit by the PPRA.
